I’ve always had an interest in WWII and the Holocaust. This novel comes from an interesting perspective: that of an American spy disguised as a Nazi propagandist in Hitler’s Germany. Well, he was more a medium of espionage than an actual spy, but it still creates a lot of problems for him.
Lots of themes here. “We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be” being the main one that Vonnegut himself brings up in the Introduction, calling it the “moral.”
